Freeverse i.e. मुक्त छंद

On this page, you'll find some of my own creation. I would be damned if I say I am a poet of any sorts, but long back, many years ago I was inspired by two people to write--one a dear friend of mine, and the other our dear teacher. The teacher, Shri Vajpayee Sir, a great scholar from the BHU, he used to teach us Hindi and he said कवि केवल वह ही नहीं जो कविता लिखता है, कवि वह भी है जो कविता समझता है! which means 'a poet is not just the one who writes poetry, but he too is a poet who understands it!'. And the friend, his name is Mahendra but he used to sing the song 'मेरा नाम राजू घराना अनाम, बहती है गंगा जहाँ मेरा धाम' and half in jest he said his name is Raju! One day, as I got to know him better, he took me to his house and should me his journal which was full of very beautiful poems, I was hugely impressed by that and while I also had written something in my notebook by then but Raju's collection encouraged me to write and express my thoughts. I never was concerned by the metre or rhyme, it was always free verse, a मुक्त छंद.
